In the middle of the night, the golden mouth was silent, and only the street lamps illuminated the corners of the city. The Lantu car located here was brightly lit in the factory, and the sound of AGV cars, conveyor chains, and tightening tools was one after another, a vibrant scene.

In order to ensure market supply, this is already a factory that never sleeps – from November 15, the Lantu factory has implemented a double-shift, 11.5-hour production mechanism.

Sales of 3,412 vehicles in July, 4,009 in August, 5,010 in September, and 6,067 in October have reached a new level every month. Lantu has announced that sales in December will reach 10,000 units.

"We are excited about the continued growth in sales. We guarantee the supply of quality assurance as much as the market needs, and we will never lose the chain in the production process!" said Le Xuekai, head of the first-level professional at the Lantu Auto factory. "The factory continues to climb in production, and we are confident that we have the ability to produce more than 10,000 cars in December."

The day shift and night shift handover time is 19:40. Zhang Jinkuan, the supervisor of the C5 class of the third line of the chassis of the final assembly factory, arrived at the factory before 19:00 to review the production problems that occurred during the day, keep in mind the relevant improvement essentials, and explain to the employees before the start of the shift.

In order to produce 10,000 vehicles per month, everyone is working hard. Du Guoxing, An Chenglong, and colleagues of the final assembly line also came to the workstation early to understand the changes related to the day shift production line and avoid omissions. In an interview with reporters, An Chenglong looked up at the production screen – the planned output of 340 vehicles on the 22nd, and the production progress was good as of 9 o’clock that night.

On the day of the double shift, Wei Peng, the second-level professional head of Lantu Logistics Management, had almost three shifts in a row. "Wei Peng was on the day shift on the 15th, and worked the night shift until 5:00 am the next day, rested in the factory for two hours, and then got up to work the day shift on the 16th. No one asked him to work continuously, it was all driven by a sense of responsibility." An employee introduced.

"Opening double shifts is a major production change, with a lot of pressure and a lot of responsibility. We must make a good start," Wei Peng said in an interview.

Since May this year, the Lantu Automobile factory has been in a state of climbing production. In September, the factory capacity special project promotion activity was also launched, which laid a solid foundation for double-shift production from the aspects of people, machines and methods.

During breaks, employees exchange production precautions with each other

In terms of "people", the personnel sharing service center of Dongfeng Company coordinates more than 300 sibling units to support production; in terms of "machines", the factory continuously breaks through equipment bottlenecks and strengthens line body transformation, among which welding production efficiency has reached the industry benchmark level; in terms of "methods", the factory continuously optimizes the operation methods of employees, and the walking paths and assembly actions of employees are carefully calculated to avoid the loss of time due to excess actions. In addition, the factory also sends employees to key suppliers to supervise production to ensure the timely supply of parts.

Production of 150 vehicles a day in May this year, then 180, 200, 300, and 340 vehicles a day by November 22 – the factory has maintained a climbing production rhythm in a state of supply and demand. The next goal is to reach 420 vehicles a day in early December – the only way to achieve the goal of producing 10,000 vehicles a month.

"We are well-prepared, with production and quality guaranteed together, and now we are climbing up at a pace of increasing production by 20 vehicles every three days," said Le Xuekai. "We are committed to the production of each day, and we must guarantee the goal of each day. We will produce 8,155 vehicles in November, not even one less. We must guarantee 10,703 vehicles in December, and not even one less."

In terms of vehicle quality control, the Landmap 4.0 digital factory shows great advantages. The factory has a wealth of inspection methods, including key data collection, body-in-white accuracy trend management, and DENSO function automatic inspection system, etc., to effectively avoid quality accidents during the production process.

An Chenglong is the safety inspection technician of the final assembly line team, and he conducts insulation performance tests before each car is off the assembly line. The production line is constantly moving, and he is also busy at the station. "After the production increase, we strengthened the point inspection, and strictly followed the standard operation book every step of the way," An Chenglong said.

During the production period, the factory further strengthened humanistic care. Corporate leaders went to the front line to offer condolences, set up shuttles in workshops and canteens, and paid night shift allowances. To reduce the commuting time of employees, Lantu Automobile also rented a dormitory building near the factory, which will be put into use early next year.
