Army amphibious forces’ live ammunition assessment at sea to temper their combat capability

CCTV News:A few days ago, the armored detachment of an amphibious heavy synthetic brigade of the 73rd Army launched a live-fire shooting assessment in a certain sea area of southern Fujian around actual combat courses such as fire attack and beach landing to test the combat capability of amphibious force system integration and three-dimensional strike.

The assessment requires officers and men to drive the chariot through four obstacles set at sea first, and then strike the target 2000 meters away accurately. In order to improve the assessment difficulty, the assessment team set up a variety of obstacle sections such as "S-shaped road", "right-angled bend" and "emergency stop area" on the sea surface with buoys. The conductor needs to accurately judge the sea conditions, direct the driver to pass through the obstacle section, and quickly complete the target search.

To complete the search, the crew should independently select the bomb type to achieve accurate strike against different targets such as fixed, moving and camouflage. During the assessment, the crew should be guided to take the opportunity to attack the designated hitter target, and it is required that each strike time of the crew should not exceed 10 seconds. The assessment lasted for 8 hours, and many new occupants completed the first reference of live-fire shooting at sea, which tempered the maritime combat capability of amphibious heavy synthetic troops in the process of approximate actual combat environment.
