The Consulate General of China in Davao raised 4 million Philippine dollars to distribute relief materials to earthquake victims in Mindanao.

  China News Service, Manila, November 9 (Reporter Guan Xiangdong) For three consecutive days, the Consulate General of the China in Davao organized Chinese-funded institutions in the Philippines to go deep into towns and villages in Mindanao, which were severely affected by the earthquake, and distributed 8,000 bags of relief materials worth 4 million Philippine dollars to the people in the disaster areas. The local people lined up to receive relief supplies and thanked China for his help.

  There were three strong earthquakes in Mindanao, Philippines in October, including 6.3 on October 16th, 6.6 on October 29th and 6.5 on October 31st. More than 180,000 people were affected in the south and west of Davao, Mindanao.

  In line with the local government’s disaster relief needs, the Consulate General of China in Davao organized various associations in Davao, Chinese-funded institutions such as China Luqiao Group, China Construction Group and the Philippine branch of China Communications Highway Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd., and quickly raised 4 million Philippine dollars for disaster relief materials for the earthquake-stricken areas.

  On November 7th, China Luqiao Philippine Office’s vehicles carrying relief materials appeared in tulunan and Maki Ji Lala, which were seriously affected by the disaster. The company donated 140,000 yuan of materials this time. On November 8-9, Li Lin, Consul General of the Consulate General of China in Davao, led representatives of Chinese-funded institutions to go to Digos, the capital of South Davao Province, and the disaster-stricken areas such as Magsaysay, Matanao and Bansaran in the province to deliver 8,000 bags of relief materials to the victims one by one. Among them, each package of relief materials includes 5 kilograms of rice, 6 cans of sardines, 10 packages of instant noodles, a blanket, bottled water, toothpaste, toothbrush, towels, soap and so on.

  Li Lin said that he will try his best to cooperate with the local government to effectively help the earthquake-stricken areas and people.
